World Prematurity Day · November 15, 2026IN MEMORY OF ZAHRA · ROOTED IN BALTIMORE
The reason we begin
Zahra.
Her life was brief. Her memory stays with us.
Zahra was born too soon in Dakar, Senegal, and lived less than three months. She was our founder’s niece.
This campaign honors her memory and stands with families whose lives are touched by preterm birth.
Zahra, held by her grandmother. Dakar, Senegal.
A story of hope, too.
Our founder’s mother was also born too soon and is alive today. Here, she holds her granddaughter Zahra.
Their stories are part of the love and commitment behind this campaign.
A note from our founder
Everyone Is Invited
Whatever your faith, race, gender, ethnicity or culture, you belong in this effort. We welcome the identities and experiences each person brings, and recognize that some families face greater barriers to care.
Let your inner grace become action: listen, learn, support a family, advocate or contribute where you can. Together, we can move maternal and newborn health forward.
Three ways to take part: give directly, wear purple and share the campaign.
01
Give directly.
Our campaign’s Give button will take you to the March of Dimes fundraiser. Jameel Purity does not collect campaign donations.
